Relay on your sources

Insert a small Coils Relay on each track, stem, or channel you want visibility into — drums, bass, a vocal, a stem, anything.

Console on your master

Insert Coils on your master bus or a monitor track. It's the one window that sees everything.

Every enabled Relay streams into Console in real time. Overlay spectrums, stack meters, check any two sources' phase with Sub Phase or Transfer Function — see how sources actually interact, not just how each looks alone.

Built for a second screen.

Mirror the whole console onto a spare monitor or a rehearsal-room display, or pop single panes out to their own windows — either way, your DAW stays right where it is.

Display mode (⛶)

The ⛶ button opens a second, borderless fullscreen window that mirrors your whole pane grid — seeded from your current layout, one-way and session-only, so nothing ever writes back to your working window.

Pop-out panes

Pop any single pane into its own OS window, then F11, double-click its title bar, or ⛶ to fill a whole display — it keeps mirroring live and stays in the main grid too.

Always-on-top strip

A slim strip docks along the top of your screen — a scrolling waveform or spectral view, with an optional spectrum scroller and oscilloscope beside it — and stays visible while you work in your DAW, even when the Console window isn't focused.

Bulletproof Esc: a background key poll always catches Esc and exits fullscreen, even if a floating window silently stole keyboard focus.

17 modules, one console

Most of the 17 read live across every source you enable. A handful — Loudness, Vitals, Rope, Vectorscope, Oscilloscope — always read the Console's own channel; a few more let you pick any two sources, or pick by role. Add what you need to your layout.

Core analysis

Spectrum Overlay

Every source's frequency content on one plot, live, with collisions highlighted where two sources fight for the same range.

Level Meters

Peak and RMS metering per source — mono per relay, full stereo on Console's own channel — one shared dB scale for honest comparison.

Loudness

Momentary and integrated LUFS, true peak, and correlation on your master — with EBU R128, ATSC A/85, Spotify, YouTube, or Apple Music targets.

Spectrogram

Scrolling per-source spectrograms stacked together so masking shows up as it happens, not after the fact.

Scroller

A compact waveform or spectral strip, sized to sit as a thin bar — it also powers the always-on-top strip at the top of your screen.

Stereo & phase

Rope

A real-time picture of your stereo field by frequency. Tight and centred means mono-compatible; scatter means wide or decorrelated.

Vectorscope

A classic goniometer with three rendering styles for reading stereo width and phase problems at a glance.

Transfer Function

Pick any two sources as Reference and Measure for a live frequency-response and coherence read, with nothing to route or bus first.

Sub Phase

Is the kick fighting the bass in the sub range? One glance answers it, with a rolling history strip.

Oscilloscope

Five raw-waveform renderings of your master, from a clean scope trace to sound-reactive visuals.

Musical

Live BPM

Tempo tracking across your drum relays with octave-lock so it doesn't flip between half-time and double-time.

Pitch / Key

Note, cents, and a manual key reference, with an alert on sustained out-of-key notes.

History

A rolling session chart of loudness, correlation, tempo, and key — with a past-session overlay for direct comparison.

Vocal Masking

Measures whether a vocal actually cuts through the rest of the mix, band by band — not a guess from a single bus.

When does the beta open?

The public beta opens Saturday, September 12, 2026. It's the full product — not a cut-down version — at the public beta price, with the 1.0 license included at no extra cost. The email list above gets the link first, on launch day; the buy button will be right here on this page.

Is Coils available for macOS?

Not yet — we're Windows-first so the beta can be great on one platform before we widen it. Mac is on the list, but there's no scheduled date yet. If you're on a Mac today, it won't run — the audio transport underneath is Windows-specific.

Is there a free trial or demo?

There's no separate trial build for the beta — the beta price is our way of letting you try it properly, and beta buyers keep the 1.0 license when it ships. If a dedicated trial build comes later, the email list hears first.

What will it cost?

You get the full product — not a cut-down version — plus the 1.0 license included at no extra cost, all at $19 during the public beta. List price after the beta is $49, so getting in during the beta is the better deal either way. Perpetual license, no subscription.

Does Coils connect to the internet?

Short version: barely, and never your audio. Coils contacts the internet for two things only: (1) license activation and a periodic license check — it sends your license key and a machine label to Lemon Squeezy's license service; (2) an update check that downloads a small version file from coilsaudio.com — it sends nothing about you. No audio, no project data, no analysis leaves your machine. The update check can be turned off in Settings. Coils Relay never uses the network.

Which DAWs does it work in?

Coils ships as a standard VST3 plugin plus a standalone application, built to work in any VST3 3.x host on Windows. We're running compatibility passes across specific DAWs ahead of launch, and we'll share what we find.

Where can I buy it?

Nowhere yet — that's exactly what the email list above is for. Coils goes on sale Saturday, September 12, through Lemon Squeezy (checkout, taxes, and your license key all handled there, buy button right on this page) — and the list hears first.

What exactly is a "Relay"?

A Relay is a small plugin you place on any track or stem. It streams that source's audio to Console in real time so Console can show it alongside everything else — no extra sends or busing required.

Does Relay pick up my track names automatically in Ableton Live?

Relays pick up track names where the host provides them. You can also set each Relay's channel by hand in its own editor — a quick, reliable fallback for any host, Live included.

What's coming after the beta?

Beta buyers get every update through 1.0 at no extra cost, and the roadmap is already moving. Planned early updates include a per-relay FX suite — EQ, glue compressor, and LFO right on the Relay itself — and a layered 3D spectrogram view. No dates promised yet, but they're coming.

Can I put it on a second monitor?

Yes. Hit the ⛶ button on the PresetBar and Console opens a second, borderless window that mirrors your whole pane grid onto whichever display you drag it to — ideal for a spare monitor or a rehearsal-room screen. You can also pop any single pane out into its own window and blow just that one up to fill a display. Either way, your main Console window keeps working underneath, exactly as it was.
